Keynote speech: "Inspired by Nature"

After receiving her BSc in Marine Biology from New College of Florida in Sarasota, USA, Dr. Dayna Baumeister earned her MSc in Resource Conservation and PhD in Organismic Biology and Ecology from the University of Montana in Missoula, USA. She has worked in the field of Biomimicry since 1998 - a science that takes creative inspiration from nature, translating findings into new problem solutions - as a researcher, educator and design consultant. Dr. Baumeister is co-founder of the "Biomimicry Guild", a worldwide acknowledged innovation consultancy for bio-inspired design, specialized in deep knowledge of biological adaptations to sustainably solve engineering and design challenges.

As today's keynote speaker, Dr. Baumeister demonstrates how inspiration from nature leads to creative and innovative solutions - including several examples from TU Delft.
