Studying abroad
One of the things that distinguishes Applied Earth Sciences from other degree programmes is the international character. This means that after graduating – if you prefer not to stay in the Netherlands – you can very easily find a job and go in for a career abroad. Even during your degree programme you can study abroad for a little while, to prepare you for a longer period abroad or simply because it’s fun. You can do this at a university with which the Faculty of Applied Earth Sciences has an exchange agreement. Students who want to spend some time abroad usually do this in their third or fourth year. You can choose from a number of well-established universities in various countries, including Canada, the USA, Australia, Chile, South Africa and of course Europe. You will be awarded ECTS credits in Delft for most of the subjects you take abroad, meaning that your studies take little more or no more time than they would normally.
