About
The MSc TIL programme covers the main elements in the broad field of transport, infrastructure and logistics. An interdisciplinary systems approach is a most important educational concept, where relevant elements and relationships within several cross-sections of transport and logistics systems are important fundamentals. There are interdisciplinary fundamentals and fundamentals provided by each of the three MSc programmes that supply courses to the MSc programme TIL.
Because of their relevance, fundamentals, five courses in total and adding up to 27 EC, are compulsory for all MSc TIL students. These courses cover interdisciplinary fundamentals, systems and policy engineering of transport and logistics systems, transportation and spatial modelling, an introduction in transport engineering and logistics and quantitative methods for logistics. Together these courses give students a common platform and good overall insight into the design and analysis of TIL arenas, TIL systems and TIL facilities appropriate to their environments.
Fundamentals are mainly scheduled in the first semester of the fist year. However, the position of ME1410 Quantitative Methods for Logistics in the programme depends on the specialisation choice. When following specialisation O or E, the course is scheduled in the first year, when following specialisation P or D, it is scheduled in the second year of the programme. Please see the charts of the specialisations for more details.
