Erasmus Mundus programme on Engineering and Management of Network Industries
Delft University of Technology's EPA programme is one of the three main partners in the Erasmus Mundus master programme on Economics and Management of Network Industries. The programme puts together Universidad Pontifia de Commilas (Madrid, coordinator), Universite Paris-Sud 11 and Delft University of Technology in order to provide a global, trans-national and between industrial sectors approach to network industries regulation and management.
Additional European partners providing opportunities for thesis research are the Florence School of Regulation of the European University Institute (Italy), and the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). Third country partners are the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering (Baltimore, USA), the University of Texas at Austin (USA), the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and Harbin Institute of technology in China. Associated parters are the Lawence Berkeley Lab. Environmental Energy Technologies Division (California, USA as well as ten large companies from these sectors: Iberdrola, Endesa, Gas Natural, Red Eléctrica, OMEL (Iberian Energy-Market Operator), Wind to Market, InterMoney, Enexis, Microeconomics, and Delta Netwerkbedrijf B.V.
The European Commission provides a substantial number of scholarships each year for highly qualified non-European students interested in completing such a prestigious programme in at least two of the above institutions. All of those admitted to the EMIN-programme are allowed to follow courses from the EPA programme as part of their EMIN degree. Those who have an engineering background and pass the first year or more from the EPA programme will receive Delft University's EPA degree in addition to their EMIN-degree.
