TRAIL Research School

DCA participates in TRAIL (Netherlands Research School for Transport, Infrastructure and Logistics), which is a joint initiative of Delft University of Technology, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Radboud University (Nijmegen), the University of Groningen and the University of Twente.
TRAIL Research School is accredited by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Science ( KNAW ) and focuses on three core activities:

1. Training & Education (T&E). TRAIL trains independent researchers to work in the fields of transport, infrastructure and logistics; develops and gives courses in specialist areas; and provides quality control and coordination for four-year PhD-candidate educational programs.

2. Research & Development (R&D). TRAIL coordinates, stimulates and strengthens integrated traffic and transport research with regard to technology, social relations, business and public administration. The research is conducted for the benefit of society as a whole or parts thereof.

3. Knowledge Transfer (K-Trans). TRAIL actively promotes the transfer of knowledge from the field of scientific research to practical applications.
