C9.M2 Time Management (Workshop)

Course description:

You will be provided with methods, techniques and practices which lead to a better time management and you'll get practical advice that suits your own situation. This workshop is suitable for PhD students of all years and consists of two parts. You are expected to attend both sessions and do a home assignment in between. If you want to prepare, please purchase and start reading the following literature: "First Things First" by Stephen R. Covey. Subjects we will cover during the workshop are: motivation and drives, (long term) planning, defining goals, setting priorities, learning styles and personal themes.

Course objectives:

You’ll understand how you can reach an improvement in your time spending, and how you can become more effective and efficient. The result will be a personal improvement in your self-organisation; you will manage your time more effectively and you will get more and better results.

Teaching method:

The workshop time management consists of a theoretical framework, which will be used to invite the participants to share their own themes, wishes and day-to-day experiences with the group. A variety of individual and joint exercises will be used. Each participant has the opportunity to work out his own examples with the group and trainer. The second session after a month focuses on evaluating the improvement in time management behaviour and creating a sustainable change.
