C11.M4 EAP-3, English for Academic Purpose-3

Course Description/Course Objectives

The aims of the EAP3 course are as follow:

  • speak with an accent which is less foreign-sounding and easier to comprehend
  • utter words and chunks of spoken language spontaneously (i.e. collocations/phrases) in selected social and academic contexts at university
  • avoid the most commonly occurring mistakes in English Grammar for B2 level, both in written and spoken forms
  • build up a collection of chunks of spoken and written language to use in academic speaking and writing contexts and to write more fluently and appropriately in an academic context
  • independently use self-teaching tools for the purpose of independent improvement of the English skills mentioned above

Admission requirements

This course is designed for students with a B-2 level of English.  This level is determined by the English Section’s placement test, which is offered at the end of each semester and in the week prior to each semester.

Teaching method

The lectures will consist largely of interactive pair, group and whole-class work. Furthermore, by means of peer-feedback, your awareness of different aspects of the English language will be enhanced.
