Mission Delta
From 19 to 29 April, for the second time in history, a Dutchman will be floating in space. Join in the experience of this ESA astronaut, André Kuipers, at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering in Delft.
The faculty is organising ‘The Delft Delta Days*’ during the space mission, with some exciting activities. An after-launch-lounge, a public lecture by Wubbo Ockels during docking, daily briefings by people directly involved, a space exposition, a discussion program, a happy landing party and an after-briefing by André Kuipers himself. The Netherlands first astronaut, Wubbo Ockels, now a professor at the faculty, will have a prominent role in these activities. The official language of these activities will be Dutch.
All activities are open to the public. There will be special program items for primary school and secondary school (VWO) pupils.
André Kuipers will stay in the International Space Station for eight days, where he will perform twenty experiments. Two TU Delft students are closely involved in two of the experiments.
