Yearly we invest more than a billion euro in sewer maintenance to discharge water out of the city, without even knowing how much rain there is falling. It is just too expensive to measure the spatial variation of rain in a city with the current profesionall rain gauges.

The DISDRO measures rain by listening to it. By using mass produced components, this is achieved at a fraction of the cost of similar high-end scientific equipment. The DISDRO makes it affordable to measure more, know more and manage better.
