Selection procedure
The eight faculties (schools) of Delft University of Technology are responsible for the first selection of the candidates. Each faculty has established a specific selection committee, chaired by its dean. This committee presents the proposed candidates to the central selection committee, chaired by the Rector of the TU Delft. The central selection committee will make the final decision. The final appointment is done by the executive board of the university.

Responsibilities selection committees
Departmental selection committees:
- promote the fellowship
- selection of candidates based on application letters
- interview the candidates
- propose the selected candidate(s) to the central selection committee
Central Selection Committee:
- refer candidates to the department that best matches their research interests (if necessary)
- final selection of the fellows based on the proposals by the departmental selection committees.
- safeguard the set quality criteria during the selection process
Time schedule
- October – 15 January 2012: recruitment phase
- 15 January – March 2012: selection process by the departmental selection committees, including interviews with candidates,
- April 2012: final selection by the central selection committee
- May 2012: appointment by the TU Delft executive board
